Meet Margherita!

Hello from all of us on the Laughing Medusa Editorial Council! In putting together our website, we’ve realized that we should take the chance to formally introduce ourselves. The Laughing Medusa is edited, designed, published, and promoted by a small group of BC’s undergraduate women each year, and we count ourselves lucky to attract some of the smartest and savviest snake-ladies that Boston College has to offer. Putting together an entire magazine (and zine–see our newest publication under the “Our Current Issue” tab!) is a labor of love, and this year a group of 13 awesome women make it possible.

We’ve asked each of our members to share a little about themselves in order to put a face (or 13) to the name of The Laughing Medusa. Each week we will be featuring the answers from one lovely lady here on the blog. Keep checking back to meet the full council, and read on right now to meet the amazing Margherita Bassi!

Margherita is a new member of the Medusa this year! She’s a sophomore English major with a Creative Writing Concentration, and has self-published two novels (WOW) which you can find out more about on her personal website, http://mvmarguerite.com/. Here’s a few fun facts about Margherita, and be sure to look out for her work in The Laughing Medusa this spring!

Personal female icon?

Everyone needs someone to be their source of confidence, love, trust, and the occasional kick in the ass … my mom is all of the above and has always been an inspiration for me!

Where you can find her outside of the Medusa:

On a horse, in a book, or making coffee because horses and books made her procrastinate homework.
