We want to thank everyone who came to our table during the involvement fair- you made it one of our favorite ones to date! Talking to you all made us super excited about the upcoming year. This excitement includes receiving and reading your applications for our council. The Laughing Medusa Council is a unique group of women that strive to create an atmosphere of support and empowerment as well as produce two literary works over the course of the year, with our major publication occurring in the spring. If this sounds like something you’d enjoy, please apply to be a council member! The application is attached below and will be due on Sunday, September 22. We look forward to hearing from all of you!

There’s also another huge way to get involved with The Laughing Medusa– submit your writing and art! We want your poetry, prose, scribblings, doodles, rants, art, photography, and all other creative work. We’re currently accepting submissions for our fall zine, which, for those who are unfamiliar, is a collection of original texts and images that are fit into a mini-magazine. Each year The Laughing Medusa zine has a different theme and title to fit the content we receive. Past issues have swapped out the word “Laughing” for “Seething,” “Musing,” and “Biting.” Our zine will be released around early December, but submissions can be sent to our email now. We are so excited to hear from all of you and to see what this fall’s zine will become!
